Magic on Stage: Mindfulness and Meditation Workshop (Anxiety Part 2)

$100

90-minute Workshop

Think mindfulness and ADHD don't mix? Think again!

There are many ways to practice mindfulness. Routine mindfulness practice has been shown to improve focus and emotional regulation, so it's especially helpful for people with ADHD or anxiety.

We'll start the workshop off with the science of mindfulness - it's persisted over time because it really has a basis in science.

Throughout the workshop we'll play some mind tricks to see how our brains can be tricky. Our tricky brains can make us think and feel one way, but learning to change perspectives can help us see the situation in another light.

We'll practice several types of meditation to get everyone off to starting their own mindfulness practice.  It is not magic, but it can feel like it!

This is a fun session to do with your family if your teen is okay with others joining.

In this 90-minute workshop, teens will:

  • Learn the science of mindfulness

  • Discover and practice various techniques of mindfulness and meditation

  • Develop an understanding of our tricky brains to help improve our flexible thinking

  • Learn how our memories are shaped by emotions

  • Gain access to the workshop downloadable printables

In addition:

  • Parents will be emailed information for each workshop so that as their teen's "stage manager" they can ensure ongoing performances as teens implement strategies learned
  • **BETA testing** teens will be invited to download and use our FREE and safe Kajabi communities app to interact with and ask questions of Dr Stuppy and others enrolled in the workshop for troubleshooting
  • Families have the option of paying an additional fee to have the entire TEACH Me ADHD Directors Cut series workbook for all 10 TEACH Me ADHD Directors Cut workshops mailed to their home

Learn from Anywhere

We know teens have busy lives so we offer a rotating schedule of this and each of the TEACH Me ADHD: Director's Cut Teen Workshop Series throughout the year.

Each of the 10 workshops are 90-minutes and offered on zoom. Your teen can log on using their phone, tablet, or computer and use headphones for privacy. We will be offering each of 10 workshops multiple times a year so your teen can always sign up based on their schedule and time of year.

Teens can sign up for one, a few, or all the workshops!

Teen-Focused

This workshop is only for teens, between 13 to 18 years of age, so they can "see" and learn alongside their peers. We've designed the overall series with a "director," "actor" and theater theme to empower teens to "re-write their script" so to realize their true potential.

Moreover, teens need ongoing support or maybe they have additional questions. Teens will gain access to our free, secure Kajabi Communities app for anytime access to our instructor. The forum is monitored at all times and only teens registered will have access.

Parent Support Included

Teens can invite parents to join them during the live workshop, either on or off camera.

However, we get that teens may have mixed feelings about their parent sitting in with them.

Parent attendance is optional as parents will receive an email with access to resources and a video summarizing content at the conclusion of the workshop. These tools are intended to help you talk confidently with your teen and reinforce ongoing practice!

Meet Your "Assistant Director"

This 90 minute workshop is led by Dr Kristen Stuppy, general pediatrician based in Kansas who brings over 25 years of cumulative experience working with families in the clinic and online. She is passionate about this work and will be your trusted "assistant director" so that teens can take on both director and actor roles throughout the run of THEIR show.
